Why We Created Orrie and Friends

Orrie and Friends began with a simple belief: children protect what they learn to love.

Wear What Matters has always been about giving a voice to wildlife, ocean life, and kindness. But we also wanted a gentler doorway for children — a way for them to meet endangered animals not through fear, but through friendship, story, and 

Orrie is an orangutan, and like many of the animals who will join him, his real-world species faces serious threats. But instead of beginning with statistics, Orrie begins with connection. He reads. He notices. He cares for small things. He helps children see that every life has value.

As children grow with Orrie, Pebo, Fenn, Ellie, and the friends still to come, we hope they grow with compassion too — learning that kindness is not just something we show people, but something we extend to animals, oceans, forests, and the living world we share

Orrie and Friends is a storybook world, but its purpose is very real: to help children love the animals they may one day help save.
